Joseph L. Bryan is Associate Minister Emeritus of Lindenwood, having served as Associate Minister from 1980 to the beginning of 1995. The Emeritus title indicates his continuing presence of ministry within the church.

He was Minister of Christian Education at the University Place Christian Church, Champaign, IL from 1960-1980 before assuming the work as Associate Minister at Lindenwood.

 

He has a strong adherence to the tradition of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was ordained to ministry in June, 1952, at the Country Club Christian Church of Kansas City, Mo. He was married in 1952 to Betty Jean Werner in Independence, MO and they have three children: Mark, Martha, and Barbara.

 

Hallmarks of Rev. Bryan's ministry have been worship with warmth and dignity, effective reading of scripture and meaningful prayers. He continues within the life of Lindenwood as a pastoral presence, continues to work in the area of evangelism and Sr. adults, weddings and funerals, and assisting where needed. He does pulpit work for Memphis area churches and continues to tout the work and ministries of Lindenwood.
