Deuteronomy 30:15-20
The people broke their promise to God and were carried away into exile. God would have restored them had they repented. He would have led them back to their land, giving them spiritual, as well as, physical renewal. In that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. Deuteronomy 30:16
Moses explained to the people that the covenant was not too difficult for them to understand, but that it was their responsibility to obey it. They could choose life and God’s blessings or receive death for their disobedience. We are not told in such a blunt manner. But we do know that we are on the road to eternal life when we accept Christ as Lord and obey His commands to love God above all, to love one another, and spread His Word that others may find Christ.
How can you better understand God’s purpose for you?
