This season’s engagements have included performances in Canada, New York, Texas, North Carolina and Illinois, but Anthony and Beard also made their international debut as a duo on Sunday, April 20 to an enthusiastic sold-out audience at The International Performing Arts Center in Moscow, Russia. Lindenwood’s own ‘resident artists’ open Music at Lindenwood 2008-’09 with the first ‘encore performance’ of their concert which features the music of Vivaldi, Gershwin, Faure and Duke Ellington, as well as arrangements of folk songs and hymns. Of their performance, presenter Elena Ustinskaya wrote,"The concert was fantastic! A big surprise for our organ audience – you demonstrated that a concert can also be unexpected, unpredictable, witty and funny!" Do not miss this delightful afternoon of music ‘direct from Russia!’

The New York Times: "The Maverick Organist . . he is a player with extraordinarily glib fingers and Astaire-like foot work." The Roanoke Times: "An Iconoclast in a conservative art form." The Beverly Hills Outlook: "His virtuosity is indescribable!" Fly Magazine: "A virtuoso, Carpenter has accomplished what few musicians dare to dream. Practically a musical miracle!" The Portland Press Herald: "Instead of an organist . . . a magician." Departures Magazine: "Cameron Carpenter is a superstar of the 21st century organ." Need we say more? This 26-year-old Juilliard-trained virtuoso has taken the music world by storm, and Music at Lindenwood is delighted to pre- sent this ‘superstar of the keyboards’ in his Memphis and Mid-South debut! Do not miss it!
"The Christmas Spectacular" is a highlight of the Memphis musical season and this year’s program will include traditional favorites such as "O Holy Night" and "O Come, All Ye Faithful", beautiful new arrangements of "Carol of the Bells" and "Angels We Have Heard on High" and much more - including surprises, of course! General Admission tickets are available for a $12 donation after September 15. Music Office - 901-458-1652.

The rich heritage of American Musical Theatre has been the source for many ‘Broadway evenings’, but this concert features THE GARY BEARD CHORALE, ORCHESTRA and SOLOISTS highlighting the special shows which have won the Tony, Broadway’s highest honor, as Best Musical. You will enjoy your favorites from "Cabaret" (1967), "Fiddler on the Roof" (1965), "My Fair Lady" (1957), "Les Miserables" (1987), "The Lion King" (1998), "Curtains" (2007) – and MANY more! Our ‘pops’ concerts have always been ‘standing-room-only’, so please order your tickets early for this evening of winners! General Admission tickets are available for a $12 donation after September 15. Music Office - 901-458-1652.
Christ’s suffering on the cross is remembered on Good Friday, April 10 at 5:30 PM as The Lindenwood Chancel Choir, Orchestra and Soloists present Gabriel Faure’s dramatic choral masterwork, "Requiem" in a service which also features meditations by seven of Memphis’ leading clergy. Then, the glory of the resurrection is celebrated in the triumphant music of Easter featuring The Chancel Choir, The Gary Beard Chorale, Orchestra and Dallas Symphony principal trumpeter Ryan Anthony on Sunday morning, April 12 at 8:30 and 11:00.
The King’s Choir, composed of singers in grades 1-5, and Laudate, the 6th-12th grade choir, will be joined by members of The Memphis Symphony Orchestra to present a tribute to all mothers on their special day. Last year’s well-received concert prompted numerous requests to ‘make it an annual event’, so we invite you to join us for this ‘2nd annual’ service-concert in tribute to all mothers.
